Handwoven Bamboo Sun Hat

Field hats like this are still worn daily across the hills, and the weave is the same one used for conical lampshades — the workshop's shade makers all learned on hats first.

Crafted in East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, Northeast India.

A wide conical sun hat woven in a fine radial twill, with a bound outer edge and an inner headband that holds it clear of the crown. Light enough for long wear and rigid enough to shed rain.
